The light, battery-powered exoskeleton:
One of Memorial’s first ReWalk patients is Larry, who sustained a T4 spinal cord injury after a motorcycle accident at age 15. After the accident, Larry remained fit and active, worked full-time in quality engineering and raised two children who are now in college.
Throughout the years, Larry’s healthcare team told him he would never walk again. That was until last year, when the outpatient physical therapy team in Hollywood told him that he might be a candidate for using the ReWalk. He never gave up hope and always stayed positive. Now he shares his experience with Memorial’s rehabilitation team with the community and is happy to be mobile again.
I have personally so many good things to say about the people who work there. They have so much knowledge and compassion and have become an important part of my family.
